  New: Effective Collegiate Church Planting

As college students are in school today to prepare for tomorrow, so the church ought to provide collegiate ministries for them to belong and become their new spiritual home.  They are away from their physical home, seeking to form new friendships and relationships. Fresh out of high school, many of them are lonely and confused in their first few years under the academic pressure and social adaptation. The church can be a new “home away from home” where they can grow in spiritual maturity during their four years of education.

New: Multicultural Church Planting

The first church that came into existence on the day of Pentecost was a multicultural church. The Holy Spirit filled a group of believers coming out of 15 ethnic Jews speaking different dialects and languages (Acts 2:1-4). It was also an urban church started in a location that was Israel’s center of culture, education, commerce, and religion in Israel. From this church for all nations in Jerusalem a multicultural church planting movement started and spread to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8).

Basic Church Planting Manual

We are to learn what a church plant is from the Bible. The Bible is the basic church planting manual how our Lord Jesus mentored his disciples – a team of church planting interns for three years to plant a church plant in Jerusalem. A church plant is not new; rather it is old. We are to return to the Scripture to rediscover what a church plant is. Each region in the North America ought to implement the biblical principles of church planting to be contextualized.

Asian American CPM Manual

Each culture has a unique ethnic heritage. Each people group must understand and respect their cultural roots in church planting movement. It is true that Asian Americans know their cultural heritage better than any other one would know them. Thus Asian Americans are to focus on church planting movement within their people groups.

Team Church Planting Manual

The Bible teaches a team approach in church planting. It is relevant for all generations. We are to follow the way Jesus trained his team of church planting interns. We are to train up leaders in the church as homegrown workers that are part of a team. Church planting in the New Testament followed a team concept, so we are to do likewise, following the Master’s way in church planting, not today’s new strategy.

Note: The above three manuals have five to seven lessons to rediscover the biblical approach in church planting. Each week a team of church planting interns meet two hours under a mentor/church planting practitioner/pastor to study 1 -2 lessons in small group discussion how they implement them in their contextualization.

A Guide for a New Church Plant in Six Months

A church planting is done by the church. It is a joy to plant a new church in a team approach with church planting interns under mentoring process in six months. Here is a guide to lead how a church plant is done in six months how to start and to celebrate it at inaugural worship service.

How to Plant Churches that Grow

Churches plant other churches, but it is God who makes them grow. The church joins God in partnership with Him in the church planting movement. Our Lord Jesus gave us the Great Commission as His final word so that we could experience the power of God in the church planting movement in our generation.

House Church Movement

 House Church Movement

Rediscover how 1st century Christians do church among their people and community by equiping the saints to do the work of God as "ministers of the Gospel" and "ambassadors of Christ." House church is biblical, inexpensive, and  rapid way to start new churches. Thus house churches are highly reproducible.

Asian American CPM is a network of pastors, church planters, and lay leaders working together to see church planting movements emerge among every Asian ethnic people group in every urban center of the USA & Canada. These emerging CPMs are fueled by fresh movements of PRAYER, movements of the HOLY SPIRIT, and movements of LAY PEOPLE taking church to the unchurched in their city, community, neighborhood, and homes.

This web site provides tools, manuals, and resources that help us achieve this vision. The manuals were developed based upon Dr. Paul Kim's life time experience in church planting among Asian Americans.

SBC Ethnic Involvement

Historic event at 2011 SBC Annual meeting in Phoenix, AZ: Dr. Paul Kim and other ethnic leaders join SBC leaders to sign the Affirmation of Unity and Cooperation.

The following motion "That the EC form a study group and report back to the convention in Orlando about "how ethnic churches and ethnic church leaders can be more actively involved in serving the needs of the SBC through cooperative partnership on the national level" was submitted by Dr. Paul Kim, Pastor Emeritus, Antioch Baptist Church, Cambridge, MA during the 2009 SBC Annual Meeting in Louisville, Kentucky.
